Kivuli Trust
We wanted to give something back and so in March 2009 we chose Kivuli Trust as our adopted charity.
Kivuli means ‘shelter’ in Swahili and from 2009 – 2025, Three Cheers Pub Co paid for the running costs of two boarding houses run by the trust, Gilgil Primary School in Kenya.
This amazing boarding house provides a nurturing environment for 68 children with physical and mental difficulties to grow up in, enabling them access to mainstream education as well as a safe place to live, both previously unobtainable.
In October 2016 Three Cheers Pub Co. owner Tom Peake visited the school to see the impact our monies have had on the children and the school. Later that year we started a fundraising initiative in order to provide hot water for the children and to build an all-important playground. In less than four weeks, Three Cheers Pub Co and our lovely customers raised £15,000 to help do this and more. Find out more here.
